Simple Signature · Troubleshooting

The signer signed, but no PDF comes

What to check, and how to fix it.

Last updated 9 Oct 2026

What to do

The Status reads Signed, but PDF Attached and PDF Emailed stay empty. Check these points.

  • Run PDF Automation on Save is on. See step 3 of Connect the site.
  • A page of your own in Template VisualForce Page for PDF has c__ in front of its name. See step 4.
  • Open Setup and type Apex Jobs in the Quick Find box. Find the failed job of Simple Signature and read its error.

The error PDF generation failed. Check the page markup is valid. means the PDF page has an error. In TAF's test, one line in SamplePDF_v2 caused it:

<div style="position:fixed; left:0; bottom:0;width:100%;height:100%">

To work around it, make a page of your own from SamplePDF_v2, as in Make a PDF page in Visualforce. Change that line to <div>. Type the page name with c__ in front in Template VisualForce Page for PDF. Then send the request again.

Applies to

Simple Signature 5.8.x. This fix comes from the tested Simple Signature implementation guide.
